What a funny looking bunch. Anyways, sorry for the late reply, I just got back from Michigan. I didn't contact Winnie because I don't think she was anywhere near the part of Michigan I was in (Anne Arbor is a ways form where I was). To answer your question, yes we have that kind of grass in Texas. It was even in one of my blog pictures. It still grows wild, but is not as common today except in gardens because the cows eat it down to the root where it won't grow back (aparently cows love the stuff).
